Q: 98 Ranger will die occasionaly when put in gear and ocassionaly when accelerating from a stop.

asked by on November 07, 2017

Intermittently the truck will die when put into gear (drive or reverse) additionally once driving around, the truck will die at an intersection when accelerating from a stop. To be noted there is a heater core issue as well that is causing the coolant to leak quickly. however I am not seeing these being related by over heating and I am staying on the coolant.

My car has 148000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
