Q: 2002 Ford Explorer, how to disable factory alarm?

asked by on February 26, 2017

I would like to know if there is a way I can permanently disable the factory alarm on my 2002 Ford Explorer? It randomly goes off by itself, probably due to a intermittent door switch. I haven't pinpointed exactly which door is the cause and would like to just disable the alarm permanently. Thanks

My car has 179000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

The alarm is an integral part of the computer system and interior locks and latches along with the lights. You cannot disable the alarm permanently.

If the alarm is sounding even when the security system is not activated, that points to a controller issue and such will have to be diagnosed.
