Q: '13 Ford Focus Transmission

asked by on April 02, 2017

Hello,

I just got my clutch replaced for the third time. To prevent it from needing repair again, is there a recommended way to drive this vehicle? For example, putting it in neutral when I'm at a stop, or, accelerating really fast after a stop. Any insight would be appreciated. My transmission issues have been a nightmare. Thx!

If you have replaced the parts that you've mentioned then have the steering sway bar links and ball joints (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-ball-joint-front) checked for binding. Auxiliary belt squeaking, pulleys 2007 Ford Fusion
Hello - the noises you describe could be coming from the serpentine belt idler pulley (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-idler-pulley), the belt itself, or the tensioner. I would recommend having the serpentine belt, and idler pulley, including the tensioner - replaced (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/idler-pulley-replacement) by a...
All of the dashboard lights/icons came on and everything blacked out causing the car to shutdown completely while driving.

Fuel Pump replaced now car won't start 2007 Saab 9-3
Hi there - the story certainly doesn't make sense. Excessive fuel pressure (https://www.yourmechanic.com/question/fuel-rail-sensor-faulty-or-fuel-pressure-too-high-by-dee) won't "ruin an injector", although it will certainly leak and cause high fuel consumption, as well as a rough idle and rough running. Check for problem codes,...
