WOW! Professional, knowledgeable, honest. I needed a 'Pre Purchase Inspection' on a vehicle I was buying from a private party. It was a 2011 Lexus that had a 'too good to be true' sale price but had a salvage title. Gary took about an hour plus to inspect the vehicle and was already covering my areas of concern before I even asked. He said his objective was to find something wrong with the vehicle so I didn't plop down a large amount of cash on a lemon. It turned out well. My fears were eased. I am so thankful that I contacted this company. What a great concept. If you need a mechanic in Contra Costa County, call YourMechanic.com and ask for Gary!!!

Derrick arrived at the right address, alerted me to his arrival and since he arrived before the scheduled time to start the job, he had time to collect some preliminary info about the car and the problem, he got started on the work on time and more importantly, completed the job on time and in a professional manner.

Burning smell from under the hood and I don't know what it is.

The smell of something burning could be many different problems from something stuck to the exhaust like a plastic bag to oil or coolant leaks on the engine. The smell comes into the passenger compartment through the air intake vents...
Key does not turn and steering wheel locked.

The first thing I would recommend is to try turning the wheel and the key at the same time. Sometimes it is possible for the steering lock to bind the ignition cylinder. Turning the wheel away from the lock can...

Hi, The seat belt system is designed to lock if pulled out too fast or if in a fast stop. Inside the mechanism for the belt there is a ratching mechanism that controls this locking and is not serviceable at...
Engine dies when I take my foot off gas pedal.
Answered by Robert
Hello. If the engine runs fine when you are holding the accelerator pedal down and dies when you release it then you may have a couple of possible issues. I would first check the vacuum hoses going to the engine....
