Q: Passenger side seat belts getting stuck.

asked by on December 18, 2015

The seat belt on the passenger side sometimes get stuck.

Hi, The seat belt system is designed to lock if pulled out too fast or if in a fast stop. Inside the mechanism for the belt there is a ratching mechanism that controls this locking and is not serviceable at all. If it is found to be defective, then the seat belt assembly would have to be replaced. Sometimes the mechanism is sensitive to the car parking on an incline or if you pull out the belt too fast. This is a normal condition and a replacement may work the same. My suggestion would be to have a certified technician check the operation and determine if a replacement would fix the problem for you.
