Q: whining noise

asked by on

loud whining noise after having my power steering pump and pressure hose replaced, noise was absent before the pump broke down. took the truck back to the shop for 3 times they cant fixed the noise

Hi there. If the whining noise happens while you’re turning the steering wheel, it’s possible that it’s simply low on power steering fluid. Believe it or not, this is fairly common when power steering pumps and lines are replaced; as sometimes a mechanic will fail to refill the power steering fluid after a few days use. Try checking the power steering fluid level first, and if the problem persists, contact one of our professional mobile mechanics to complete a power steering inspection; so they can pinpoint the source of your issues.
