Hey I went to a dealership had my car put on the machine because my check [engine](/topics-engine-toyota/) light came on well it says canister purge valve they fixed that, but it’s still doing the same thing when it go from 1st to 2nd gear it feels like something is stopped or like I’m jumping off the clutch to fast and it’s not a standard Mechanic's Assistant: Does the light stay on, or does it blink? Stays on Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2012 Toyota [Camry](/topics-camry/) Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Camry yourself? What have you tried so far? Hi welcome to just Answer I am Roy hope I can help , sorry to hear about your shifting issue. Th purge control will not cause that issue. Did you have any other codes stored in the control unit? Let me know Thanks Roy

No there wasn’t any other codesNo I don’t want to switch
Automotive Expert
Ok I would check and see if you have any control units update needed for the transmission you could have a signal issue. I would also monitor the shift with a scan tool also .They will need to test drive while happening to see the issue

Ok thank you I will be taking it to Toyota tomorrowNo there wasn't any other codes
Automotive Expert
Okay could be a program issue or a sticking valve in the transmission it will need to be monitored first
