Q: To get my radiator out, do I need to remove my water pump?

asked by on December 23, 2017

I hit a deer out on 97 and then drove it for around 5 hours after the collision. My insurance company had two shops they recommended, I chose the one with 5 star rating. When I left car it was mechanically sound, then they called after 3 days saying the radiator needed to be replaced. They give me car back after 2 weeks but it has problems almost immediately with the coolant level dropping to low within a week, then car lost all heat and then my engine temp jumped to 240. I pulled over and put a gallon of coolant in and the car drove ok. Then the parking brake went haywire with the light not going off and the dinging as if my parking brake was applied but it wasn't. I took car back to shop and they said it was just a coincidence my car is breaking down. The second time the car overheated I did not have coolant and was very stressed trying to get to a store. I took car back, they said they would take care of it,now after 4 days they say my water pump is shot, and thats on me evidently!

I think they messed up my car, am I right?
