Hey I have a Mazda that cranks but doesn't want to start. So far I've replaced the battery, starter, distributor, spark plugs, fuses, and the alternator but it still doesn't start. I've bought an OBD scanner to hopefully see if the codes would pop up as to why it isn't starting but it doesn't pull codes unless the car is running. I've tried to start the car in neutral but that doesn't help, and when the hood is open, when I try to start it, I smell a really small amount of gas but the "mechanic" I hired said the fuel pump "sounds like it works". Another question I have is would the car crank even if the engine is blown? Some people are saying since I've replaced all those things and it still doesn't start, it might be a blown engine.
