Q: SUV not starting

asked by on

My SUV, which usually runs perfectly, will not start.

Hi. There are a few things can cause that. Is the engine cranking? If not, it is the battery or starter related. If it is cranking, parts like the crankshaft sensor, and the fuel pump can suddenly fail. There are a series of simple tests like scanning the computer for codes, checking spark, injector pulse, and fuel pressure to narrow down what the problem is. If you need further assistance, I recommend you have a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, inspect the starting issue and repair the failing components in your vehicle.
