Q: Reverse lights don't always work 1994 Mazda MX6

asked by on

Bulbs are working but sometimes the reverse lights don't turn on when I go in reverse

My car has 219000 miles.
My car has a manual transmission.

Hi - most likely the reverse light switch is working erratically. It is mounted on the gearbox, and is subject to vibration as well as oil on the switch contacts. I recommend a reverse light switch replacement by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, and replace this component.
