Do you know which engine is equipped in your vehicle?

I am very familiar with these engines as we've done some rebuilds at my shop. The tapping sound typically means you may have a worn oil pump and pressure may be low. We will need to install a gauge in the oil pump port so we can confirm. However, since the noise goes away when warm, its most likely your oil pump is worn and requires replacement.

My car runs good and all except that noise so it's the oil pumpthat's located inside the oil pan

thats located inside the timing cover, but I believe the oil pan needs to come down either way.
