Q: Motor smokes

asked by on

The motor is smoking.

Hi there. If the engine is smoking in the engine compartment area, you probably have a leak. When engine oil leaks out due to a bad gasket, it hits a hot engine part causing the smoke. This causes the oil to burn giving off smoke and a bad smell. A visual inspection of the smoke by an experienced mechanic can usually point out the bad gasket. Consider using the services of YourMechanic to help you repair this issue.
