Q: I have a transmission out of a vehicle sitting on a trailer. It rained. Is the transmission ok or is it junk.

asked by on August 14, 2016

Is my transmission junk?

No, it should be okay as long as water is not getting in the transmission. If it did, then drain out any water and keep it covered. You may want to consult an expert to inspect the transmission in person to see if there is any damage or wear that is severe enough to cause it to not work correctly.

Hey there. This is a common issue related to the transmission pressure switch failing (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/transmission-position-sensor-switch-replacement). My car is misfiring on several cylinders and there is coolant in my coil pack 5and 6
The presence of coolant suggests a leak and that should be resolved as a leak could be a cause of the misfiring if water creates a path to ground. If, by chance, you are referring to coolant actually in the...
