How do you open and close the windows with the key?

While you can use your power window switch to operate the windows on your car from the inside, you can also use the key to open or close them from the outside. This can be helpful if you forgot to roll them up before getting out, or decide you want to crack them to vent heat. Here’s how:

  1. Insert the key into the driver door lock.

  2. Unlock the door.

  3. Turn the key to the rear and hold it for at least two seconds.

  4. The windows should start opening.

  5. To close your windows, just turn the key toward the left (front) for at least two seconds. The windows should start rolling up.

Tip

To stop the windows, just release the key.
