A Buyer’s Guide to the 2012 Infiniti G37

infiniti g37 coupe 2012

The 2012 Infiniti G37 is a sporty vehicle that looks as great as it performs. It’s a head turning vehicle that could be the perfect entry point to the luxury market for many people.

Key Features

The driver’s seat features 8-way adjustability and fantastic comfort, while the vehicle has a large full-color display, cruise control, a six-speaker system, an audio jack for MP3 players, and more.

Changes for 2012

The changes to the 2012 Infiniti G37 are cosmetic. It offers new colors, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a new grille for certain models.

What We Like

This is a perfect vehicle for those who want a luxury vehicle without paying a huge price. It performs well, has some nice power, and it looks stunning. It’s entry-level, but it feels like much more when you get behind the wheel. Some of the other features that are notably great include the intelligent cruise control system, and the 7-inch LCD info screen in the vehicle.

What Concerns Us

We like quite a bit about the vehicle, but there are some issues that are cause for a bit of concern. The vehicle performs well, but it does tend to use a lot of gas. In addition, with the coupe and the convertible options, there is not as much headroom as you might want or need.

Available Models

The 2012 Infiniti G37 is the sport option for the Infiniti G in a sedan, coupe, and convertible. The G37 offers a 3.7-liter V6 engine. The sedan has 328 horsepower @ 7,000 RPM, while the coupe and the convertible have 330 horsepower @ 7,000 RPM. The sedan has 269lb of torque @5,200 RPM, and the coupe and convertible have 270lb of torque @ 5,200 RPM. The manual option gets 17 MPG in the city and 25 on the highway. The automatic gets 19 in the city and 27 on the highway. The AWD automatic gets 18 in the city and 25 on the highway.

Major Recalls

There has only been one major recall with the Infinity G37, and it had to do with the power window switch controller. The auto reverse action on the window was not to specs, which could have resulted in people pinching hands or arms in the windows.

Common Issues

Other than the recall mentioned above, there have not been any major issues regarding the 2012 Infiniti G37. It’s a well-made vehicle and consumers have generally been very happy with their purchase.
