How do I return the seatback to the upright position?

If the seat is reclined, you’ll want to return it to the upright position before driving. To do so, lift the Unitfrecline lever on the outboard side of the seat, while applying no pressure to the seatback. The seatback will return to its upright position, at which point you can release the lever.
