Thank you for taking the time to let us help you out with this problem and hopefully we can sort it out quickly. Please understand that I do not know your knowledge or capabilities so I may need to ask questions to find out basic information to help solve your specific problem. Sometimes it may take a moment for me to respond because I may have to look up information about your concern. I appreciate your patience and will provide responses as soon as possible. If the car won't move then you'll need to check the [transmission](/topics-transmission-honda/) fluid. If the fluid is low then the transmission won't engage. Make sure the fluid is full. If it is then make sure the shift cable is still connected and actually shifting into gear. If it is then you'll need to do a line pressure test to see if the pump is working in the transmission. This would apply to an automatic transmission. If you have a manual transmission let me know. My goal is to give you the best service possible and to help you. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to let me know. If I’m not online at the time, I will respond ASAP when I get back.

How do I put the transmission fluid in ?
Automotive Expert
There's a dipstick that you'll have to pull out and check the level. It should have a yellow coating on the handle. It's shaped like a circle. 1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature (the [radiator](/topics-radiator-honda/) fan comes on). 2. Park the vehicle on level ground, and turn the engine off. 3. Remove the dipstick (yellow loop) (A) from the transmission, and wipe it with a clean cloth. 4. Insert the dipstick into the transmission. 5. Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level. It should be between the upper mark (B) and lower mark (C). 6. If the level is below the lower mark, pour the recommended fluid into the dipstick hole to bring it to the upper mark. Always use Honda ATF DW-1 (ATF-Z1 has been replaced with ATF DW-1, Honda Service News Nov 2010) Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). Using a non Honda ATF can affect shift quality.

OK then you'll need to do a line pressure test to see if the pump is good.

What's a line pump test?
Automotive Expert
You need to connect a pressure gauge to the transmission to see if the pump is putting out pressure.
