Q: Hello yesterday i experience my alternator belt breaking and i had oil everywhere and i was wondering how did that happen

My issue is my alternator belt broke and it has caused a major oil leak i put 1q of oil in my car this morning before the belt broke and when it broke later in the day no oil was in the motor and it was all under my car was wondering what could be the problem

My car has 101026 miles.
