Q: Ford Taurus 2004 right rear end damage resulted from backing up. Wanted to repair or replace the dented part. Estimate the cost.

asked by on July 03, 2017

I was backing up in the parking lot and accidentally hit my right rear end on a truck behind it. The truck was intact but my right rear end had a very deep and large dent (diameter of the dent is about 10 inches). The plastic cover of the rear end light was also damaged (the light can still work). I would like to get the light cover repaired. I also want a repair or replacement to be done so that my right rear end resumes normal looking. I would like to get a quote of the cost and potentially hire a mechanic to do the job.

Bad gas mileage
Hello there. A decrease in fuel milage can be attributed to a few different faults. The most common causes are leaking fuel injectors (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-injector-replacement), oxygen sensors (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/oxygen-sensor-replacement), coolant temperature sensors (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/coolant-temperature-switch-sensor-replacement), vacuum leaks or exhaust leaks. My car will start, just not run.
Hi, thanks for writing in. I would start with testing your battery and alternator with a multi meter. Good batteries (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-buy-a-good-quality-car-battery) hold a charge of 12.6 volts or higher. If the battery is low, try to jump start it. If...

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 180,000 miles. As I'm driving it starts to sputter but still going the speed limit.
Sounds like the crankshaft position sensor is loosing connection when driving. Check the harness to the crankshaft position sensor and see if there is a loose wires or if the contacts can be loose when pushed against. The harness could...
My 2005 acura tl tries to start when turn the key but it wont actually crank. Autozone said strter, alt, batt are good
Be sure the engine immobilizer system is not activated (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-shut-off-the-anti-theft-device-in-your-car-by-jason-unrau) thus preventing the car from starting. If the engine is not turning over (cranking) with the key held in the start position, that means that there is a problem...
