Q: Left rear passenger door Window and Lock do not work at all.

asked by on November 22, 2016

The rear left door on my vw cc 2010 is having issues. The sound on the speaker on the door works fine but the window does not at all not even a bit nor does the door lock. All other doors windows work and lock but the left rear does not. I took off the panel to see what it was but I'm stumped. The only slight issue I think it is might be wrong probably the OEM motor which is a motor and a circuit put together. Any suggestion FYI: I disconnected the battery and the window started working but the lock did not, BUT it stopped working after a few minutes .

The window motors are a common failure. Sometimes the cable in the regulator can come off track and wrap around the gear on the motor and do some damage. As far as the door lock you may have an actuator failing. Many of the door locks on VWs and Audis were air powered, but your concerns sounds like it’s electrical. Consider hiring an experienced technician like one from YourMechanic who can come out and take a closer look and your electrical concerns and offer a more personal diagnosis.

Car is idling high, revving at RPMs higher than 2700
Hello. When this car idles high like this it is because there is a vacuum leak (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/is-it-safe-to-drive-with-a-vacuum-leak). A vacuum leak will allow too much air to enter the engine causing it to idle too high. The most common place is...

P0733, P0734, P792, P490, P1790 after mechanic rebuilt engine
I think these codes may be explained by an electrical harness connector that is unplugged. The first two codes refer to the transmission ratios and the P0792 is for a speed sensor. The lack of a speed sensor signal could...

Car won't start, making clicking noise when I try to start it and the gages needles are going from low to high speed w/wo key
Be sure you have a fully charged battery that passes a load test (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/battery-is-dead-inspection). Once you have a confirmed good battery, if the starter motor is not functioning that means the starter circuit, or the starter motor itself, is faulty....
