I was driving on the road and it all at once lost power. The speedometer dropped to zero I was able to coast to the side of the road. I’ll power was gone the car would not start. I could not roll down my windows. I put my car in park and then it would not move anymore even when I turned the key on I could not even getAdd to move at a park Mechanic's Assistant: Is the power loss consistent, or does it fluctuate? There was no power at all Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model/year of your car? 2003 Ford focus Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Focus yourself? What have you tried so far? I just had it towed to a friend shop. He is not a mechanic and he said he will have to take it to a mechanic to fix it. I have no idea what’s wrong with it

Howdy from Tennessee, I'm Chris aka Moose. Who am I helping today? I'm glad you've come here to get help. I will do my best to get the answer you are looking for. I help many customers, so sometimes my replies are delayed, I will respond once available. I try to be online at 1-5 pm and 10 pm-5 am every day. So far pre-diag it looks like the [alternator](/topics-alternator-ford/) failed so the battery was not being charged. The car ran till all the battery voltage was gone and the battery was/is dead. Other possible causes could be poor cable connections on the battery, frame, and at the fuse box, main high amp fuses that have failed. I suggest you start with a voltmeter to see if the battery, battery cables, large alternator wire, and high amp fuses have 12.6 volts. Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. Press reply if you need to follow up. If you liked my answer please let me know so I can mark your question complete. Moose

I’m not sure that is what is wrong with the car. I will get back to you

If you can test I can be of much more help in diagnosing this.

I found out it was a fuse underneath the hood. Everything is good now
Automotive Expert
Glad you found it to be one of the things I mentioned.

My son was trying to drive my car back home and the car stopped working again. No power at all. Apparently the fuse blew again.
Automotive Expert
That would indicate there is a wiring short or a component shorted to ground on this circuit that the fuse applies power to.
