Q: dash lights go out when i turn on headlights

dash lights go out when i turn on my headlights

My car has 180000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

In order to properly diagnose the system, the wire diagram would need to be looked at for your Chrysler. In general, the dashboard lights are powered and set to brightness from the headlight switch. Have the switch checked to see if there is a loose connection to the rheostat for the dash lights. If you would like to have this looked at in person, a certified professional from YourMechanic can come to your car’s location to diagnose the electrical system and let you know what needs repair.
