Q: Could the evap system cause the vehicle to run lean and have hard start up ? I have evap code and lean in both banks

asked by on December 07, 2017

I have a evap code and lean in both banks codes and also have all 4 o2 sensors codes I have already replaced the evap purge valve i bench tested it and it wouldn’t hold vaccum and installed the new one but car still has lean condition codes and it sounds like the purge valve opens as soon as you start up the car is this normal ? And how can I fix my lean condition?
My car has an automatic transmission.

When you are getting lean codes and codes to all the O2 sensors then this is caused by either a MAF sensor or the intake has vacuum leaks in the tube between MAF and throttle body or in PCV system. You should supply all the code numbers you get after first clearing them and then driving until the check engine light comes back on and scn for the codes that first make light come on and give us the codes so we can help you out better with an answer.

Hear buzzing noise when pressing clutch.
From your description it sounds like you may have a bad pilot bearing, input shaft bearing, or release bearing. The engine noise may be a separate issue, but I would have to hear it first hand to know for sure....
Dashboard lights not working
Hi. The common problem with dash lights going out is a power inverter malfunction. The only fix is to replace the whole dashboard. I would check the fuses for the dash lights first and if they are okay, the problem...
What can happen without using my fuel rail pressure sensor?
The fuel rail pressure sensor is used by the computer to regulate the fuel pressure by regulating the voltage to the fuel pump to slow it down or speed it up. If the pressure switch is bad then the computer...
My car stutter starts, but only after driving it for a few minutes.
Hey there. This may also be caused by what is called the fuel pressure regulator (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/fuel-pressure-regulator-replacement). This is a unit that helps to maintain the fuel pressure at the proper level. When this is not working properly, the fuel pump...

No compression cylinder 1, car shakes/vibrates and runs rough, decreased gas mileage.
Yes, absolutely, rebuild or replace the engine. The vehicle itself is a recent model year so your least cost option will be to repair what you have. And, you're right, "re-sale value" is irrelevant in the calculation (good for you!)....
My truck had no oil and. I. Put oil now it's reading zero. Pressure can I drive home
Hello, thank you for writing in. If the oil is empty, then there is likely a severe oil leak and you are going to have more problems. Do not rely on the oil pressure gauge on your dash, as they...
Truck overheated. Didn't have any water in it. WAter was put in it and now it won't start. Sounds like it wants to turn but it won
If you overheated the engine and have a blown head gasket then coolant may have filled the cylinders and caused it to lock up. You will need to have spark plugs taken out and see what cylinder are full of...
