Q: Computer showing codes for things not broken

asked by on

My car's computer is showing codes for things that aren't broken.

When a car’s Check Engine Light comes on it is telling us there is a fault in a system and a code is displayed. When this code is displayed, it tells us where to start looking for a fault, but this may not be the exact issue the car is having. A qualified technician, such as one from YourMechanic, will be able to scan and interpret the Check Engine Light codes and diagnose whatever issues are apparent.
