Car running hot, coolant is bubbling in [radiator](/topics-radiator-chrysler/)/reservoir tank and coolant is disappearing but no visible leaks. Mechanic's Assistant: How old are the hoses? And just to clarify, can you actually see the leak? No I do not see any leaks. It is a 2013 and I purchased the car in 2013. It is still the same hoses from when I bought the vehicle Mechanic's Assistant: What is the make/model of your '13 car? It's a touring Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your Touring yourself? What have you tried so far? Chrysler [200](/topics-200/) Yes I am fixing it myself. I usually do the work myself. I had changed the primary [thermostat](/topics-thermostat-chrysler/) last year but not the secondary Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? Its also a ticking sound that I hear from passenger side when I turn on the ac/heat

That sounds like a blown head gasket, I would check that first, they have a test kit you can rent from autozone that will check it

Ok. I didn't see any smoke coming from the exhaust or milky substance underneath the oil capAre those kits expensive?
Automotive Expert
that doesnt have to be present to have a blown head gasket I think its 40-50 bucks but you get that back minus the test fluid

Ok good. That's not too bad. I had changed the primary thermostat in the car last year but didn't changed the primary. Could that have something to do with it?
Automotive Expert
not if there is bubbles, that sounds like exhaust gas getting pumped in

Ok. I gotcha. Also there is ticking sound that come from the passenger side whenever I turn the ax/heat on. It will tick for a few seconds and then it randomly comes back while I'm driving
Automotive Expert
that sounds like a interior blend door not working right, you would need to follow the tick to the blend door motor so you know which one to replace.

Ok. Where are those located in the car?
Automotive Expert
under the dash on the passenger and driver side, you will have to pull the glove box and some panels depending on which one it is

Ok. How many blend door motors does the car have?
Automotive Expert
2 blend door, a mode door and re-circulation door, any of those can do that

Ok. One more question. What are the symptoms of bad motor mounts?
Automotive Expert
the [engine](/topics-engine-chrysler/) will jump when you accelerate, you can power [brake](/topics-brake-chrysler/) and check in drive or reverse and it will jump if they are broken

What about a vibration or shaking motor while I'm driving?
Automotive Expert
you may have some vibration more than usual but it wouldnt be much

how many motor mounts does the car have?
Automotive Expert
which engine do you have?

2.4L
Automotive Expert
3

Ok.Another question. When I turn the heat on, the passenger side doesn't have heat while the drivers side does. Is that related to the blend door?
Automotive Expert
yes

Ok
Automotive Expert
yes

Should i replace my hoses too?
Automotive Expert
I would check and see if your engine is ok first, you may end up needing one

What are the symptoms of a bad [water pump](/topics-water-pump-chrysler/)?
Automotive Expert
overheating and no coolant circulation

I'm not sure what it's called but plug that drains the radiator fluid is difficult to get to and I had an extremely hard time getting to it and opening it up. Is there an easier way to get to it?
Automotive Expert
from under the vehicle or just pop a hose

Ok. So to flush the radiator I don't have have to open the plug and I can just pop a hose?
Automotive Expert
yes lower hose

Ok thanks
Automotive Expert
your welcome
