Howdy from Tennessee, I'm Chris aka Moose. Who am I helping today? I'm glad you've come here to get help. I will do my best to get the answer you are looking for. I help many customers, so sometimes my replies are delayed, I will respond once available. I try to be online at 1-5 pm and 10 pm-5 am every day. I have an idea as to what is wrong but we would need to do some diagnostics to prove that. Would you be able to connect a scan tool to the truck to monitor some things? Would you be able to see if the reverse light work, will it roll in neutral, will it not roll in park?

I currently don’t have the truck with me I left it where it was but I tried going into gear and the gear shifter will work but it wouldn’t go into no gear and I haven’t checked if the brake worked or not and no it won’t go into no gear not drive reverse netrual or nothing but just the shifter will but just wouldn’t be going into no gear

Thanks, \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* moved the shifter, did it seems to have the same resistance as always, or did it seem to move easier?

Move easier it will still be locked until you pushed on the brake it would unlock the handle but it would move like if it was going threw all the gears but in reality it wasn’t even making any noice like if it was going into gear or nothingIt wasn’t even going threw any gear when the handle would be movedOn the cluster it would stay on P but as you move the shifter it will still stay on park it wouldn’t go into any other gear almost like if it didn’t have a transmission on and just the handle itself

Thanks for those details. Currently, I believe the concern is going to be a broken shift cable or the shift cable has popped off at its ball and socket connection on the side of the transmission or the transmission range/park neutral position switch is faulty. ONce you are with the vehicle if it will roll in neutral but not in park. That rules out the shift cable. Thank you for seeking us for help, I hope I provided what was needed. ReplyI had a question about an Audifor the Denali I think it’s just stuck in park and you can’t really go into any other gear like netrual like you mentioned but the shifter works but it won’t go into any gear on the cluster when you move the shifter it still says it’s on park cause I won’t move go into any other gear
