Hi Corey, it's nice to meet you. Is the temp gauge showing normal temp?

I have a2014 chevy cruze..a/c off due to high engine temp..I changed both coolant temp sensors on the thermostat housing an [radiator](/topics-radiator-chevy/) an rest the code by disconnecting the battery an started working fine temp guage started working an everything, drove down the road code popped back onFan stays on the whole time car is running
Automotive Expert
Ok, so the temp was reading normal at that point? Do you have good heat at idle?

Temp was reading normal after I reset code for a few minutes then code popped back on stopped reading temp againcar doesn't run hot or anything
Automotive Expert
Ok, I think the first thing you should do is make sure you have good heat at idle. If the car's got an air pocket in the cooling system, it may cause this issue. Usually if the heat isn't hot at idle it means there is an air pocket in the [heater core](/topics-heater-core-chevy/). If there is good heat at idle, I suspect you are going to have to trace the wiring from the temp sensors to the computer to make sure there isn't any issue, if they are grounding out you might get this concern. Otherwise, I suspect a computer problem.

What's a good idle temp
Automotive Expert
Out of the vents? 100 F or so, maybe a little bit more.

If I shoot with a temp gun at thermostat housing what temp schouId i look for?If there's an air pocket how do I fixAre get the air out

Here is a link with instructions for filling the coolant. Whatever temp thermostat you put in should be the temp at the housing, 215 maybe. [https://www.dropbox.com/s/hw7j0pzl75vgh5y/cooling%20system%20fill.pdf?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/hw7j0pzl75vgh5y/cooling%20system%20fill.pdf?dl=0)

Thank u sir
