Q: Car will not stop running

asked by on

My car will not stop running. I turned off the key and the car was still running. I had to pull a fuse and disconnect the battery. It sounds like it might need a new ignition switch.

Hello! Indeed, the ignition switch is the most common cause of the car not shutting off when the key is turned. The ignition switch failing is a safety issue and should be diagnosed by a qualified technician, such as one of our YourMechanic experts.
