Q: Car not starting when Check Engine light is on

asked by on

My Check Engine light is coming on and won't go off. When the Check Engine light stays on, my car won't start.

The most common problems for this car not starting is the distributor assembly components like the ignition module, coil, cap, rotor, distributor seal leaking oil into the distributor components. The best recommendation is to replace the distributor as an assembly. I recommend you have a mechanic, like ones from YourMechanic, to come by and diagnose why the car won’t start.
