Q: car dont crank

asked by on

i put the car in the ignition don't start but when u take the crank relay out and hot wire it it start but don't stay running
My car has an automatic transmission.

Based on the information you gave for your 2004 Chevy Impala, it may be a bad relay, or possibly the ignition switch, or maybe even something else. I suggest having a certified technician, like one from YourMechanic, come to your home or office to diagnose the exact cause of the cranking issue and verify what repairs should be done.
