There are usually 3 primary causes for a hose to become swollen. The first is too much pressure. If you’ve just replaced your radiator and cap, there’s a chance that it is creating too much pressure in the system (this is sometimes seen with generic caps) but could also be a sign of a blown headgasket on your DeVille. Second, hoses are subject to wear from the inside out. If the interior of the hose has been worn away, it may look fine to a casual observation, but the rubber has become very thin. Sometimes this creates bubbles or blisters, but if the wear is significant, a large portion of the hose can swell.Finally, hoses can become swollen when exposed to very high heats. If your [engine](/topics-engine-cadillac/) has overheated (due to a stuck thermostat, low coolant or for some other reason), it’s possible for superheated coolant to swell the hose.

1/3 I have a 2001 Cadillac sedan DeVille what it does I can drive it all day but if I go over 70 80 direct the top radiator hose be hard but the lower radios2/3 be swallowed and it be cold I've changed the thermostat change the radiator new [water pump](/topics-water-pump-cadillac/) but I haven't changed none of the hoses none of the radiator3/3 hoses heater core hoses

I would definitely recommend changing the hoses as soon as possible before moving on.

1/2 Thanks I'll give you a heads up when I finish tomorrow but I know it's something simple there's no blow [head gasket](/topics-head-gasket-cadillac/) run too long to be blown head no all2/2 in the water no antifreeze smell out the tailpipe my only thing I know different when I turn my economy temperature down to like 70 or 80 it get cold
