Q: Brake pads - replacing them voids warranty?
Dealer wants between 320-400 + tax for axle.
I don't need the entire axle replaced.
Should I go to a mechanic? (6 more years left in warranty)
Also, do I need to align the wheels after replacement?
My car has an automatic transmission.

They probably quoted you the price "per axle" - meaning $320-$400 for front and $320-$400 for rear. Brakes are always replace per axle - meaning front or rear. You never just replace one side only.
