Q: Bleach in gas tank 2010 Nissan Maxima

asked by on December 05, 2016

Bleach was put into gas tank drove for 2 miles and white smoke came out and car cut off

My car has 100000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hello - this problem will require the fuel system to be completely drained, flushed with fresh fuel and drained, then refilled with fresh fuel. Change the fuel filter AFTER the first flush with fresh fuel to be sure all bleach is removed. I would do this quickly before any corrosion occurs. Unfortunately, this is not a service YourMechanic can offer at this time. Thanks for thinking of us though!
