Q: After the car is driven the radiator is cold, but the engine gets to smoke around the valve cover what is the prob?

asked by on January 30, 2017

It started out the vehicle cranks but unable to start the engine. Then I changed the battery, alternator, ignition coil, spark plug, distributor cup,and the module.I changed each part hoping one of this will be the problem. Finally, when I get to the module it started. Then something else I discovered,When i drive the vehicle the radiator is not hot, when I squeeze the hose from the radiator to the engine there is no water passing through. But the engine starts to smoke around the valve cover. In fact, at one point when I try to start the engine it quits at least twice on me.But latter it starts again.

my question to you is what is the possible problem that cause the engine to smoke while the radiator is cold ,and also the temperature gauge is not working?

My car has 109000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
