It wont switch out of first gear when engine gets warm

My car has 236000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

If transmission will not shift only when it gets warm and shifts perfect when cold then the problem may be in one of the sensors and would require the computer scanned for codes to see if vehicle is going into failure mode and diagnose any codes received.
