How to Prepare for the Louisiana Driver’s Written Test

Before you can get your driver’s license in Louisiana, you need to pass your written exam so you can get the driver’s permit. The written test is enough to scare some people, particularly those who feel they are not good at taking tests. The test isn’t difficult if you take the time to study and prepare though. The state simply wants to make sure you understand the rules of the road so you are not a danger to yourself or others once you are driving. Taking the time to prepare for your test using the following tips will help make passing your driver’s written test easy the first time you try.

The driver’s manual

The Driver’s Manual for Class D and E licenses is essential if you hope to pass the test. All of the questions that are on the test actually come right from the manual. You will want to get a copy to start studying right away. You do not need a physical copy though. You can download the PDF to your computer, or to your smartphone, tablet, or e-reader. The manual will cover everything you need to know including traffic laws, parking laws, safety, and road signs.

Since you can download this information to your mobile devices, you can study whenever you have some free time. If you really want to pass the test on your first try, you do need to put in the time to read the manual. However, you will also want to do some other things as part of your preparation.

Online tests

After you’ve studied, you will want to put your work to the test, and the best way to do that is by taking actual online tests. They will gauge your knowledge of the information from the manual, and the results will give you a good idea of how you might do on the actual exam. At DMV Written Test, you will find several tests for Louisiana. In order to pass the test, you need to answer 80% of the questions correctly.

You should first study the manual and then take a practice exam to see how well you do. Study the questions that you got wrong and learn the right answers. Then, take another test. You will see fast progression and eventually will answer all of the questions right. This should give you the confidence you need for your real test.

Get an app

You can also get apps for your Android and Apple devices that can help. They have information and questions that will further prepare you for your test, and you will always have them right at your fingertips. Some of the options to consider include Drivers Ed app and Louisiana Driving Test.

A final tip

Take your time when you are at your actual exam. Read the questions carefully and then let your studying and practice guide you to a great score on the exam.
