Q: Window out of track

asked by on

The driver's side window is out of it's tracks.

Hi there. When the window regulator breaks the window itself comes off of the track. If the regulator is bad then the regulator and motor need to be replaced as an assembly. I usually diagnose this by removing the door panel to see why the window is not on the track. I can then determine if it is the regulator by seeing if the window came out of the regulator or if the regulator shifted and failed. If you need to have this repaired, consider YourMechanic, as a certified mechanic can come to your home or office to inspect your window and replace your window motor / regulator assembly if necessary.
