Typically, when a window comes off its track, it is a good indication that a component within the system has failed. When it comes to your Saturn Ion, it may be a matter of removing the door panel and using a steady set of hands to guide the window back onto its track, then securing the fasteners that secure the window to the regulator. I have encountered this exact situation in this exact vehicle a few times in the field and was able to make the repair right on the spot. To be 100% certain this is the case, I would recommend enlisting the assistance of a certified mechanic to come by and inspect your car’s window. They will have the experience and tools needed to remove the door panel and access the window, its tracks, and its regulator to quickly determine if a simple adjustment is needed or if a component needs to be replaced to get your window working properly again.
