Q: Where is the transmission range selector on a 2007 Chrysler aspen? Is it the same as the neutral safety switch?

asked by on October 27, 2017

The car won't crank from the key, but would crank and start at the relay if bridged. I knew then it was probably the neutral safety switch. Then I put the car in gear it won't go forward but will go in reverse. Now I fear I might have blown out transmission. The ironic thing though it doesn't have a single trouble code. So I'm hopping you have come across something like this before and what was your solution to the problem. Is caused from the range selector? Where is the range selector on this car?

My car has 15000 miles.

The maintenance reminder system (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/reset-maintenance-reminder-system) is not strictly mileage based. If 12 months elapse, without an intervening re-set, the light will come on simply because the engine oil should be changed at 12 months even if the 7,500 mileage interval...
