Hi there - so you feel a vibration only under acceleration, or under a load - good diagnostic skills! Most likely, the CV joints on your front axles are worn, and are allowing a bit more movement as they rotate than they should. This will cause an oscillation which you feel as though the road was not smooth. I would also check motor/transmission mounts to be sure they are not allowing excessive twist of the engine/transmission under load - which would also cause the same behavior as worn CV joints.

To avoid any unnecessary repairs, I would recommend having the car's shaking symptom inspected by a mobile, professional mechanic, such as one from YourMechanic, who will come to your location, diagnose this problem, give you an accurate assessment of damage and cost estimate for repairs.

Q: A large clunking noise is coming from the front left of my car anytime I start my car, and anytime I go over a pothole/speedbump

Hi, thanks for writing in. If simply starting your car causes a clunk, then you may have another damaged motor or transmission mount (there are 4 total). You should replace all 4 mounts. When one mount fails, it allows excess...

Q: Are the motor mounts touched during a tune up? When are the motor mounts touched?

There is nothing in a basic tune up that would require loosening or touching the motor mounts. If the motor mounts are in fact loose, they could potentially cause damage to the axles if the motor were to shift enough...

Q: Why do I have to replace my brakes every year or every other year?

This is definitely a very short distance for brake replacement and should be looked at by a mechanic. Your brakes should last at least 25,000 to 40,000 miles depending on the driving habits and conditions the car is subjected to....
