Q: What causes the cooling recovery tank to break?

I just had my entire radiator replaced at Firestone 1 year ago and now it is back for a broken cooling recovery tank. Are the 2 incidents related? It seems like they didnt do the job right the first time.

My car has 133000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
