Q: What causes me car to be weak when going uphill

asked by on January 08, 2017

Had hard time going uphill Weak when going up hill Sometimes can not go up

My car has 110000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.

There may be a few different reasons for a vehicle to not have power to go up a hill. You need to first determine if it is the engine or transmission problem. If the transmission is not downshifting or is slipping then it would need to be checked. If transmission shifts and does not slip then the engine low power may be from a blockage in the exhaust like a converter is blocking some of the exhaust flow or the fuel system is not supplying enough fuel or the air filter is clogged. Any of these problems can cause lack of power and all of them checked.

Heater hose leak

These codes both indicate a problem with the cam sensor for bank 1, or A, on the passenger's side of the engine. Whether the sensor has failed and no other problems exist would need to be verified. I would recommend...
what do codes P1391 and P0340 mean?
The codes mean you need a camshaft position sensor (or something related to it such as wiring). Typically you replace the camshaft and crankshaft position sensor as a pair. The jerking/misfire sounds like you need a tune-up (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/tune-up) at 112k...

It was running fine. I killed it a stop it set for about an hour, then it wouldn't start. It does start but sputtering, but won't stay running.
Hi there. Sounds like the fuel pump is not failing and causing the engine to starve for fuel and causing the engine to sputter after sitting for a little time. Check the fuel pump relay and see if its getting...
My reservoir is boiling is that indication of needing a thermostat 2007 Nissan Pathfinder
Hi there - while it is possible that the thermostat is keeping your engines operating temperature too high (coolant temp gauge should always be in the middle of the gauge), the steam and boiling water out of the reservoir (https://www.yourmechanic.com/question/coolant-is-boiling-by-amonee-a)...

It sounds like you may have a problem with the traction control system, which may include a number of things. The traction control system (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/traction-control-light-is-on-inspection) monitors the steering and stability of the vehicle and engages when loss of traction has...
