Q: what are the signs that i an engine mount is breaking?

asked by on

if it's on the first gear , it sounds not normal..

My car has an automatic transmission.

The most noticeable sign of a failing motor mount is a very strong vibration that may increase a bit as the engine speed increases. As you may know, the motor mounts support the motor inside the car’s chassis and have rubber bushings inside of them. As the rubber bushings begin to wear out, the motor mount will begin to fail, eventually causing a very violent shaking or vibration. This should be looked at immediately by a qualified mechanic such as one from YourMechanic in order to avoid further damage to your car.
