Hi good morning. my toyota aqua is not starting this morning Mechanic's Assistant: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded? My daughter peed so we removed the seat and in the process we removed the fan for the battery because it was very dusty then put it back. Since then it won't come on Mechanic's Assistant: What is the model/year of your Toyota? 2016 toyota aqua Mechanic's Assistant: Are you fixing your vehicle yourself? What have you tried so far? No Mechanic's Assistant: Anything else you want the Mechanic to know before I connect you? No, thats it

Hi there, my name is Jake. Sorry your having issues, but thanks for reaching out.

Do you know what it could be?
Automotive Expert
DO you have any fault codes? because a fan fault for the battery can effect starting? did you touch the orange battery disconnect switch at any point? if so when reinstalled you have to slide it straight down and it makes a click.

Okay, one second. I'm going to try that
Automotive Expert
sure thing

Can we continue in the chat?
Automotive Expert
yes, ignore the pop ups

I did that, I heard a click but it still isn't starting
Automotive Expert
do me a favor, take the key and hold it by the start button. then press the start button down and HOLD IT DOWN for like 5 seconds and see if the motor attempts to start

just did that, nocan i send a picture of the dashboard icons?

all those lights stay on or some of them go out after a few seconds?

all of them stay on

If it was starting fine prior to your work. I'd suspect a poor connection of something and retrace your work. The hybrid battery is sensitive to any faults including battery cooling fan faults. the service [engine](/topics-engine-toyota/) light is on, so if you have access to a code reader then pull the codes for me and I can tell you what they are saying.

no access to a code readerdo you mean like a QR code scanner?if so, what codes would i check?
Automotive Expert
I am referring to an OBD II code reader that plugs into the diagnostic port under drivers side of the dash. also make sure the [headlights](/topics-headlight-toyota/) work and you didn't somehow accidentally drain the 12v battery.

the headlights are coming oni don't have access to the code reader
Automotive Expert
Yea, we have tried the most basic things that make sense here. the next steps are really to retrace your steps or read codes. I am obviously not there to visually inspect the vehicle which makes it more difficult to provide more guidance without any fault direction.

Okay, I understand. Thankyou for your assistance.
Automotive Expert
sure no problem. if you come across something when inspecting your work that your unsure of feel free to ask.

Hi, how can I jumpstart the car?I was told to do so by my technician
Automotive Expert
The battery is passengers side of the trunk. Just remove the cover and jump it off

What is the lockout prevention?
Lockout prevention is a handy feature that you’ll be glad you have. If you’re anything like the rest of us, you’ve at least had some close calls with locking your keys in the car, often in the ignition. Your Accord...
How do I install a child restraint?
There are numerous different kinds of child restraint systems available, and each installs differently. To be sure that you safely and properly install your child restraint system, follow the instructions provided by the child restraint manufacturer.
Steering wheel squeaks in reverse and when turning
Since the noise appears to occur while turning, I would have your mechanic check for a loose or failing accessory drive belt (https://www.yourmechanic.com/services/serpentine-drive-belt-replacement) (often called a 'serpentine" belt). Turning puts more load on this belt, and it may be slipping....
My transmission is knocking really hard when accelerating. I can feel it right under my middle console.
This problem is most likely caused by a rapidly failing driveshaft coupling (or "guibo"). These couplings are actually rubber doughnuts, with steel couplings for attachment to the transmission and driveshaft, transmitting power to the rear differential. The rubber portion of...

Have 93 lincoln town car I haven't to pump my brakes to stop

08 chevy colorado 3.7 5 cyl should i be concerned that my alternator {2 months old} doesnt put out power for 2 min when cold start
Hi there. At first glance, I would not assume that the voltage issues you are experiencing is related to a faulty alternator itself. It's more likely that you have a faulty electrical connection or harness that is causing the inconsistent...
My car only accelerates directly after I start it. After a short period, it stops responding to the gas pedal being pressed.
You will need to have the computer scanned and the fuel pressure tested to see if the pressure is low. Since there is a problem then the system tests will identify the cause of the loss of power. You either...
