Q: Throttle Sensor

asked by on

I'm looking into buying this car and the throttle sensor does not work, what does the throttle sensor do? Is it still drivable for a little while before that can be fixed?
My car has an automatic transmission.

Hi, thanks for writing in. The throttle is controlled by an electronic throttle control and the vehicle will most likely be in a fail safe mode that will not allow throttle control. I would recommend having an expert from YourMechanic come to perform a pre-purchase inspection on the car for you.
