Q: The main bearing in my 1988 deville broke during a drive and leaked almost all of the oil. Can you guys help me replace it?
My car wouldn't go over 30 mph I put down on the throttle then the engine picked up a little but then smoke came out to the engine closest to the cabin, and then I stopped. After it cooled down I noticed there was oil on the back half of the engine but couldn't see where it leaked from. Looked under neath and saw 2/3rds of the bearing (I had to look up the gm# to figure out what it was) and twenty feet back the rest of it. It turned over after as well but not way in hell was I gonna try and drive it and risk more damage.
