Q: Pulley squealing.

asked by on December 29, 2015

Water pump pulley is making a squealing noise. It could also be one of the other pulleys along the serpentine belt assembly.

I would have a technician take a look at it and they can find the problem. Sometimes a bad air compressor will cause the belt to squeal and sometimes the belt may just need tightening. There is also a product called belt dressing that can stop a squealing belt if it is just the belt.
