Q: Passlock reset on 2002 Chevrolet Impala

I know the steps to reset it through the radio, but what if my radio does not work? Will I have to go to the dealership because I've heard the radios are built for that specific car so it will not reset unless I go through the dealer

My car has 212000 miles.
My car has an automatic transmission.
