Hi. Welcome to chat! My name is \*\*\*\*\* \*\*\*\*\* I am an expert here, at Just Answer. I will assist you with your questions today. What code are you getting? P0101?

I replaced it is still coming on now the car won’t accelerateNo thksI I took the throttlebody off cleaned it and still doing the same thing
Automotive Expert
Ok. More than likely the cat converter is plugged. That is fairly common. If you replace the cat/manifold assembly you should be good. Sometimes the pcv leaks and there is a pcm update for that, for the same code p0101. But with that condition the vehicle will still accelerate, just set codes. I believe your cat is plugged due to lack of acceleration as well.

How does a code 0101 relate to her cat manifold

The air can not move through the engine so the air flow across the sensor is not what the computer is expecting to see. You can remove the 02 sensor and see if you can pick up a little more acceleration. You can install a back pressure gauge into the 02 sensor hole and check the back pressure. Both ways to try and verify the cat is bad before replacing.

Ok

Let me know if you have any other questions on this. Thanks.

the mass airflow sensor is not the problem
Automotive Expert
Yeah most likely. Your just getting maf code because of poor air movement through the engine.

Make sense
Automotive Expert
Sure does.

Misfire - 2003 BMW 320i
Hi there. Typically when a professional mechanic is trying to diagnose an engine misfire, the first thing they'll do is download any OBD-II error codes (https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/how-to-read-and-understand-check-engine-light-codes-by-jason-unrau) to pinpoint the source of the ignition issue. Without knowing those codes, telling you...
